Scott grew up in this area, near Franktown, Easton’s Corners, and Smiths Falls, attending high school there until 1988. He obtained his law degree at Queen’s in 2005 where he won the class prize in Employment Law and the Osgoode Society Prize which is awarded to the top 15 students in the graduating class at each Ontario law school. He previously completed Bachelor degrees at Waterloo in Math (1993) and English Literature (2000).
Scott began working as an assistant to Jim Bond in 1996 and continued when he began law school in 2001. They formed Bond & Hughes in 2006 after Scott’s call to the bar. They practiced together at 10 Market Square in Perth until Jim’s retirement in 2019. Then an exciting new chapter began, with the merger of Scott’s firm with the firm of Barker Willson.
Scott enjoys spending time with his wife Michelle, their 3 twenty-something children, and 2 cats. For leisure, he is an avid bodybuilder and reader, and enjoys struggling with the piano.
